What to send

None of this is required — a paragraph is a fine start. But if you have these, the first reply will be substantive instead of a list of questions.

• The platform and roughly what vintage, if you know it.
• Building type, size, and whether it is occupied during the work.
• The symptom in plain terms, and how long it has been happening.
• Anything already written down — a specification section, findings report, point list, sequence, or a prior contractor's proposal.
• For federal work: the agency, facility, delivery vehicle, and whether badging is already in place.
• For contractors: the scope you need covered, the schedule, and whether it runs under your name or ours.
